Extrusal intends to increase the Exports

For this year, the Extrusal Group, specialist in extrusion and surface treatment of aluminium profiles, pretends to expand its internationalization plan with the entry of new markets, such as Brazil and Venezuela. The group is predicting a 10% export increase compared to 2012.

Last year, the export activity represented 49% of total sales and the European market 44% of these exportations. The turnover reached 34 million euros distributed by the Industry (74%) and Architecture (26%). Compared to 2011, there was a decrease of 6% due to the reduction of aluminium price and the European crisis (construction and real estates).

According to a company source “In 2013 the company strategy will focus on sustained and growing markets, on launching two news sliding systems for architecture, on investment in machinery and structures to increase the productivity, and finally, on creating partnerships with clients of the Industry sector.

Nowadays, the Extrusal Group is a reference in the international market by the supply of innovating and technologically advanced aluminium solutions. At the factory, in Aveiro, structural profiles are produced as well the machining of aluminium pieces for the automotive industry; energy-efficient aluminium systems, for windows, doors and façades, which contribute for a sustainable construction.

The Extrusal Group was born in 1972, in Aveiro, and today is compounded by companies in Angola, Cape Verde and Mozambique. In 1997, Extrusal was the first Portuguese company and one of very few in Europe, to achieve the certification of its Global Management System by ISO 9002 standard (dies manufacturing, extrusion, anodizing and powder coating). In 2002, Extrusal created the Environmental Management System which has been certified by NP EN ISO 14001 standard.
